A Study for Seekers, Skeptics, and the Spiritually Hungry.

We are a group of Christians who affirm:

Biblical Authority

God shows Himself in nature, but He speaks clearly and savingly to us in Scripture. The sixty-six books of the Bible were given by the Holy Spirit as our inerrant, infallible, and final authority for all matters of faith, worship, and life.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…”

2 Timothy 3:16

Divine Supremacy

There is one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God created all things—including humanity, male and female—and God wisely and powerfully rules over all things. We were designed to worship Him. That’s why, in glorifying God, we find our greatest good.

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible… all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

Colossians 1:16, 17

Human Inability

God made us for relationship with Him, but by the first man, Adam, humanity fell into sin and wrecked that relationship. We are all willful traitors against God, and we are unable to change unless God mercifully intervenes in our lives. There is nothing we can do to merit salvation. Left to ourselves, we all deserve God’s just wrath.

“…sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned…”

Romans 5:12

Jesus’ Sufficiency

The Father mercifully sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life that we could not, and to die the traitor’s death that we deserved. More than that, Jesus rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is returning one day to judge the world and welcome His people into everlasting life. Jesus covers all the sins of everyone who trusts Him alone for salvation.

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

2 Corinthians 5:21

The Spirit’s Agency

Salvation doesn’t happen when we try hard, but when God the Holy Spirit replaces our hard hearts, making us altogether new. He draws us to Jesus and turns us to faith and repentance. The Spirit lives in every believer, enabling him or her to persevere all the way to the end.

“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

Ezekiel 36:26

The Christian’s Journey

God gathers His people as the Church to worship, and sends them to live and love for His glory. By His means of grace—the Word, sacraments, and prayer—God empowers us to honor Him, care for one another, pursue holiness, and testify to the lost. The Christian life is one of service, dying to self, and setting sights on the eternal happiness that lies ahead in our Father’s house.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:8-10
